AI Innovation Highlights for August 2025

Artificial Intelligence in 2025 has stopped being science fiction and become a real assistant in business and life. This month, several trends stand out that set the tone for technology development and inspire change.

The first is generative AI.

It creates texts, images, scripts and even helps make decisions. More than 70% of companies are already using these models. For example, Avito developed its own LLM family for large-scale GenAI implementation in its services, and Sovcombank launched Sovcom-GPT — a multi-agent AI platform that integrates banking systems. One of our clients launched a chatbot with generative AI that reduced request processing time by 40%. If you haven't connected yet, it might be time to catch up.

Multimodal models

The second trend is multimodal models that analyze text, images, sound and video simultaneously. For example, the new Russian model OmniFusion from AIRI, Sber AI can conduct dialogues based on image analysis with outstanding results. GPT-4V from OpenAI is used for robot training and medical diagnostics thanks to its ability to write programs based on video analysis. And an online learning platform uses multimodal AI to create interactive courses with video materials and text assignments.

Personalisation

Today AI knows your preferences better than you do. For instance, in e-commerce, major retailer Sephora implemented an AI recommendation system that analyzes customer behavior and suggests exactly the products they dream of. As a result, conversion increased by 25%, and customer engagement improved. Indeed uses GPT-4o mini to personalize communication with candidates, increasing job application responses by 20%. Klarna implemented an AI assistant that reduced customer issue resolution time from 11 to 2 minutes.

Quantum AI

Quantum AI still resembles a long game, but the potential is enormous. IBM, Google and Microsoft are actively developing quantum algorithms to accelerate model training. Biotech companies apply quantum solutions for drug discovery, reducing research time from months to weeks.

Technology democratization

Thanks to open models — BloomZ, OLMo, Llama — small startups can create their own AI applications without large investments. For example, Aria models from Rhymes AI and Leopard became the first multimodal Open Source solutions with Mixture of Experts architecture, dramatically expanding innovation possibilities.

Overall, 2025 is the time when AI becomes an integral part of business, and technologies don't just work, but truly understand and help. For a deeper dive into global AI trends and analytics, check out the latest AI Index Report from Stanford University
